Seminar on “Pakistan in the World Affairs” at Pakistan Study Centre

A Seminar on the theme of “Pakistan in the World Affairs” was held at Pakistan Study Centre University of Peshawar. The keynote speaker was Mian Fazal Elahi Editor-in-Chief of “Diplomatic Focus” magazine Islamabad. 

Mr. Elahi gave a perspective of Pakistan’s foreign policy. He said that diplomats can play a vital role in cementing relations between two countries. He elaborated various forms of diplomacy such as Public diplomacy, Media diplomacy, Soft power diplomacy, economic diplomacy and the like. Mian Elahi said that the world has been changed considerably and Pakistan needs to revisit its foreign policy. He asked the youth to adopt diplomacy as their profession as it is a challenging and rewarding job.

Speaking on the occasion Director Pakistan Study Centre University of Peshawar Prof Dr. Fakhr-ul-Islam said that Foreign policy is one of the core subjects of the Scheme of Studies of Pakistan Study Centre. He said it is not a static discipline but is highly volatile, thereby changing constantly. 

He thanked Mian Fazal Elahi and his team for paying visit to Pakistan Study Centre and enlightened the students and staff about a very important aspect of Pakistan.
