Director speaks at FATA University Peace Conference

Prof. Dr. Fakhr-ul-Islam Director Pakistan Study Centre University of Peshawar delivered a key note lecture at Peace Conference at FATA University, Dara Adam Khel. Presided over by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tahir Shah, the conference was held in connection with International peace day.

In his key note address, Dr. Fakhr-ul-Islam gave a perspective of International day of peace. He regretted that the world in general and our region in particular, are striving for peace and tranquility. He said that both Islam and Pashtun culture promote peace but unluckily we have abandoned these sources. He said that we need individuals with positive attitude, peace of mind and tolerance for a peaceful society. He said that the first step to peace is tolerance and respect for each other's point of view.  The conference was followed by a peace walk which had a round of the whole campus and terminated at Vice Chancellor's secretariat. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tahir Shah delivered a concluding speech.
