Students and Faculty from the Department of History and Pakistan Studies Shaheed Benazir Women's University Peshawar visited the Pakistan Study Centre. Dr. Ifqat Shaheen, Dr. Hamida and Ms Shandana led the delegation.  Prof Dr Fakhr-ul-Islam received the delegation and presented shield to the leader. A joint meeting of the faculty members of both the organizations was held wherein future plans were discussed.  The Director welcomed young students and said that exchange of such kinds of visits are beneficial for personal and professional development of the students.A seminar was held wherein Dr. Hamida presented a scholarly paper on "Women's Political Participation". She answered many questions asked by the audience. In her speech Dr. Ifqat Shaheen thanked Dr Fakhr-ul-Islam  and staff of the Centre for their warmth and hospitality. 

  

A two-day workshop for teachers of schools in Peshawar was arranged at Pakistan Study Centre University of Peshawar. Prof Dr Zahid Anwar Khan, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities inaugurated the workshop. In his speech, the Dean  praised Pakistan Study Centre and its Director for arranging such useful capacity building programmes. Prof Dr Fakhr-ul-Islam Director Pakistan Study Centre was Resource Person of the first session. He gave details of the origin and evolution of the Pakistan Studies discipline. He also presented some misconceptions and their clearance to the audience. Mr Tariq Amin spoke on the objectives of the workshop while Mr Muhammad Iqbal conducted the proceedings. 

   

Pakistan Study Centre University of Peshawar signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Shaheed Benazir Women University Peshawar. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Razia Sultana and Prof Dr Fakhr-ul-Islam signed and exchanged documents. Federal Minister Zartaj Gul Wazir was also present on the occasion. Both the parties agreed to hold joint seminars/conferences and other research events. As follow up of MoU, a meeting was held at the Department of History and Pakistan Studies SBBWU. The meeting was attended by Prof Dr Fakhr-ul-Islam. Di Ifquat Shaheen and Dr Hamida. Various programmes were finalized in the meeting.
